Marilyn B. Wood

Marilyn B. (Maigret) Wood, 76, of One Meadowbrook Way, Canton; formerly of East Bacon Street, Plainville, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Tower Hill Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Canton following a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Milton Lewis Wood. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 6, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Dorothy E. (Hollis) Maigret. She was raised and educated in Attleboro where she resided until moving to North Attleboro in 1979 and later moved to Plainville where she resided until 2010. Mrs. Wood was employed as an attendant for the Wrentham Developmental Center for 13 years prior to her retirement and later was employed as a private duty caregiver. She enjoyed gardening, reading and times spent at the beach. She treasured the time spent with her beloved feline companion, Rusty. She was a volunteer member of the Board of Directors of the Woodlawn-North Purchase Cemetery Association. Mrs. Wood leaves two sons: Jeffrey B. Wood of Cumming, Georgia and Scott L. Wood of New Ipswich, New Hampshire; a daughter: Michelle Roberts of Attleboro; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister: Joan L. Fraatz of Norton and several extended family members and friends. She was the mother of the late Nicole L. Birch, Barry A. Wood, R. Douglas Davignon and Richard J. Davignon, Jr. Mrs. Wood was the sister of the late Paula R. Jost and Henry Maigret. At her request visitation has been respectfully omitted and funeral services will be private. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Woods name and honor may be made to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, 43 South Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
