Marilyn Spear Patenaude

April 4, 1930 — June 9, 2013

Marilyn Spear Patenaude, 83, of Attleboro passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2013. Born in Rockland, Maine, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Blackington) and Erwin Maynard Spear. She was married for 59 years to the late Edward Joseph Patenaude. Marilyn was a graduate of Rockland High School in Rockland, Maine. She attended Tufts College in Medford, Massachusetts and graduated in 1953 from the University of Maine in Orono where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Marilyn enjoyed an eighteen-year career in teaching fourth grade at Attleboro Willett School. Marilyn leaves two daughters: Melissa Montgomery and her husband, Dr. Stephen Montgomery, of Syracuse, New York and Amy Patenaude of Providence, Rhode Island; two grandchildren: Peter Montgomery of Boston and Anne Montgomery of Syracuse, New York and two sisters: Pauline Bardsley and Ruth Greer. Marilyn was the sister of the late Everett Spear and Erwin Spear. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Gathering Celebrating the Lives of both Edward and Marilyn Patenaude on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the nationally historic "Colonel Obed Robinson Home", 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
