Marilyn Curtis

March 13, 1937 — July 19, 2013

Marilyn Curtis, 76, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, Friday, July, 19, 2013 at home, with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of Charles Curtis, to whom she was married 50 years. Born on March 13, 1937 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Katherine and Edward Hughes. Marilyn grew up in Jamaica Plain before moving to Plainville to raise a family. In addition, she dedicated 25 years working at Stop & Shop in North Attleboro. Marilyn is survived by three children: Chuck, and his wife Patricia of Boston, Glenn of Plainville, and Cynthia, and her fiancé Mark LaFerriere of Plainville; her cherished grandchildren: David and Leah Curtis, and Brady Lynn LaFerriere of Plainville. She was the loving sister of Thomas Hughes of Boston, Claire Hughes of Roslindale, and Betty Ann Testa of Westwood; and adoring aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn enjoyed her summers years ago in Kennebunk, Maine. She was an avid bowler, reader, and enjoyed her nights out the "Birthday Girls", to whom she built lifelong friendships with. Her favorite times, though, were watching her 3 children, and her 3 grandchildren grow up, and play sports all year round. The family of Marilyn Curtis is grateful for the support and care of Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, as well the significant assistance of health care professional, Becky Ohlson.
