Marilyn L. (Cassidy) Blake Cobb, 81, of Mechanic Street, Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, August 15, 2011 at Kindred Hospital Northeast, Stoughton, following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Irvin Bud M. Cobb, to whom she was married in October 1999 and she was the wife of the late Thomas J. Blake, who passed away on February 22, 1983. Mrs. Cobb was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on March 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Harold J. and M. Louise (Gaboury) Cassidy. She was raised, educated, and remained a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro. During her working years, she initially worked for four years in the Stationary Department at the L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro. She then spent the rest of her career working in the packing room of The Robbins Company in Attleboro for many years prior to her retirement. A longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro, she was a past member of the St. Johns Club. Mrs. Cobb was also a member of the Highland Country Club in Attleboro. She treasured the times spent with her beloved family. Her favorite activities were the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as planning the family gatherings around the holidays. Mrs. Cobb loved vacation and travel, in particular the times spent taking cruises. In addition to her loving husband of over 11 years, she leaves three sons: Daniel T. Blake of Attleboro, Kevin M. Blake of Attleboro and Thomas J. Blake, II of South Attleboro; a daughter: Pamela A. Caponigro of Attleboro; a step-son: Mark S. Cobb of North Attleboro; a step-daughter: Nancy Smith of Salem, New Hampshire; ten grandchildren: Sean Caponigro, Brian Caponigro, Lauren Caponigro, Tara Kindberg, Thomas Blake, Martha Blake, Carolyn Dibbert, Gary Bouvier, Greg Bouvier and Scott Mello; nine great grandchildren; a brother: James M. Cassidy of Attleboro; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Raymond Cassidy, Beverly Fyfe and Harold Joe Cassidy, Jr. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 9:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street Route 152, Attleboro, with the Rev. Richard M. Roy, Pastor, officiating. There will be no funeral cortege leaving from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will immediately follow church services at St. Johns Cemetery, Attleboro. Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to return with the family to Highland Country Club in Attleboro for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance.
