Marilyn R. Beard

Marilyn Rose (Beaupre) Beard, 80, of North Attleboro, MA passed away with the same grace and dignity that she lived her life as she was surrounded by her loving family at her residence on September 12, 2023.  She was the best friend and wife of John James Beard to whom she was married on May 18, 1963 and they were recently honored to have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 5, 1943, she was a daughter of the late J. George Beaupre and the late Mary Catherine (Lee) Beaupre.  Raised and educated in her native City of Attleboro, Marilyn attended local schools and was a 1961 graduate of Attleboro High School.  She later earned an associate's degree from Hubbard Business School.
In earlier years, Marilyn worked at the former Tri-Boro Cinemas in Attleboro Falls, MA and as a waitress at the former Bliss Dairy Restaurant in Attleboro Falls, MA and lastly as a bank teller at the former Ben Franklin Savings Bank and Foxboro Federal Savings.
A woman of devout religion and faith, she was a communicant of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark in Attleboro Falls, MA where she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
An ardent Scrabble player, she enjoyed matching wits with friends and relatives alike, both at home as well as at the North Attleboro and Wrentham Senior Centers.  Marilyn was also a dedicated walker and could often be seen around North Attleboro on one of her daily 5-mile treks.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe, taking cruises, and spending time at their family home in Port Charlotte, Florida.  Reading was also a favorite pastime.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her devoted children: Christine M. Beard of Port Charlotte, Florida and Eric J. Beard of Attleboro, MA; her cherished grandchildren: Allison Beard of Cambridge, MA and Christopher Beard of Attleboro, MA; and her adoring sisters: Georgette A. Vachon of West Yarmouth, MA and Patricia M. McPhail of Port Charlotte, Florida.
She was the sister of the late Kathleen D. Fawl who died in 2017.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark with a private burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marilyn's name and honor may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
