Mariette "Marie" Carmen Dube

Mariette "Marie" Carmen (Blanchette) Dube, 83, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the McCarthy Hospice Care Center in East Sandwich, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Harvey J. Dube, who died in September 1980. Born on September 8, 1933 in Berlin, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Delphis and Odelia (Morneau) Blanchette. A graduate of Notre Dame High School in Berlin, NH, she received her nursing education in Berlin and from St. Joseph's College of Maine in Standish, ME. Marie proudly worked as a Registered Nurse for more than thirty years at Southwood Hospital, the former Pondville Hospital, in Norfolk, MA, and for several years at the North Attleboro High School, before retiring. A resident of North Attleboro for fifty-six years, she previously lived in Hartford, CT. A woman of great faith and devotion, Marie was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark's Parish in North Attleboro, where she was for many years an active member. She was very involved with the Hockomock YMCA, volunteered for the Southwood Hospital Gift Shop and for many, many years at The Falls Fire Barn Museum. She loved to travel throughout the world and spend time on Lake Winnipesaukee. Marie enjoyed knitting, and took great pride in the many winter scarves she would knit for her church. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, and especially cherished attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events throughout the years.She was the loving mother of Michael W. Dube and his wife, Crystal A. (Oldfield) Dube, of Forestdale, MA; Gregory J. Dube and his wife, Pauline G. (Sinos) Dube, of North Attleboro, MA; and the late Suzanne "Susie" Marie Dube, who died on November 4, 2015. Marie was the adoring grandmother of Jason Michael Dube, Timothy James Dube, Lindsay Marie (Dube) Duphiney, Madison W. Botsch, Rielly-Rae Botsch, and Parker Marie Botsch; and great-grandmother of Kiley Marie Dube, Sawyer M. Dube, and Scarlett Marie Duphiney. She was the sister of Georgette Pearson of Waterford, CT, and her late husband, John Pearson; Oliver Blanchette and his wife, Dorothy Kennedy, of Natick, MA; Raymond Blanchette and his wife, Janet Blanchette, of Shelton, CT; and the late Norman Blanchette, and his late wife, Rolande D. (Desgroseilliers) Blanchette, who recently died. She leaves her dearest and best friend, Marilyn Wilbur of North Attleboro, MA; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends, including those she made while being cared for at The Branches of North Attleboro.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Marie by gathering for a Visitation on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, North Attleboro, MA.Burial services will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls, at which time Marie will be laid to rest alongside her dear late husband, Harvey.
