Marie Elizabeth (Gonsalves) Klabanos, 71, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late George Klabanos who died on August 28, 2012.Born on October 22, 1946 in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Gonsalves, Sr., and the late Marion (Reis) Gonsalves. A graduate of Brockton High School, she worked for many years as the Food Service Director of Harrington House in Walpole, MA, and as a former Clerk at Brockton City Hall. Marie was a resident of North Attleboro for the past ten years, having previously lived in Walpole, MA. She attended St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro. Marie was a wonderful cook who always enjoyed watching cooking shows. More than anything, she cherished being with her family, and had a special place in her heart for her faithful companion, "Kayla". She was the loving mother of Peter Anthony Klabanos of North Attleboro, MA, and Nicole A. Klabanos of Taunton, MA. Marie was the sister of Ronald Gonsalves and his wife, Patricia Gonsalves, of Taunton, MA; Barbara Penna of Athol, MA, and her late husband, Joseph "Buddy" Penna; Anthony Gonsalves, Jr. and his wife, Dawn Gonsalves, of FL; and Joyce Martins of Taunton, MA, and her late husband, Oliviero Martins. She leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
