Marian M. Couture

Marian M. (McLean) Couture, 71, of Division Street, North Attleboro, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Stoughton following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Couture. Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on September 21, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Ethel C. (Dunham) McLean. She remained a lifelong resident of her native community and was a 1958 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She later attended and graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in Providence, Rhode Island. In earlier years, Mrs. Couture attended the former First Universalist Church of North Attleboro and later Murray Unitarian-Universalist Church in Attleboro. Along with her sisters, she was a volunteer card maker for Operation Write Home, an organization that asks volunteers to make greeting cards to be forwarded to service men and women to in turn be used to forward to their family members on special occasions and holidays. A sports enthusiast, she was an ardent supporter of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She leaves two loving and caring sisters: Martha G. Charest of Zephyrhills, Florida and Meredith M. Tuxbury of Zephyrhills, Florida; two nieces: Robin Charest-Mohammed of Sarasota, Florida and Holly Tuxbury of Center Hill, Florida; a nephew: Eric Charest of Vero Beach, Florida; two great nieces: Amanda Mohammed of Sarasota, Florida and Nicole Charest of Vero Beach, Florida and a great nephew: Alexander Charest of Vero Beach, Florida. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Private funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 with Rev. Carole L. Baker, Pastor of the Central Congregational Church, Attleboro Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Couture's name may be made to Operation Write Home, 35205 13th Pl SW, Federal Way, WA 98023.
