Maria D. "Connie" (Medeiros) Silva, 89, of Madonna Manor, North Washington Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Christopher Heights, South Main Street, Attleboro died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Madonna Manor where she had been a resident since November 2009. She was the wife of the late Fernando P. Silva who died in June 1984. Born in St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal on March 7, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Romualdo and Maria Luisa Medeiros. She was raised and educated in the Azores before immigrating to the United States and settling in Attleboro on October 2, 1974. She proudly became a United States citizen in 1980. Mrs. Silva was affectionately known as "Connie" to her family and friends and was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her beloved family. In November 2009, Mrs. Silva moved from Attleboro to Madonna Manor. She was a communicant of the former Holy Ghost Church, now known as St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Attleboro. Her life centered on her love for family and she will be remembered for her ability as a wonderful cook of traditional Portuguese dishes. Mrs. Silva enjoyed crocheting and solving word puzzles. She leaves three children: Maria Paula (Silva) Coelho and her husband, Antonio Coelho, of Palm Harbor, Florida and twins: Maria Filomena (Silva) Pezzullo of North Providence, Rhode Island and Carlos M. Silva and his wife, Deborah A. (Uniacke) Silva, of Attleboro; a granddaughter: Sandra Penner of Clayton, California and several extended family members and friends. Mrs. Silva was predeceased by all of her siblings. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Linden Street, Attleboro.
