Margaret (Lawton) Swistak, 76, of Pleasant Street, Attleboro formerly of Longview Drive, North Attleboro, died on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Garden Place in Attleboro where she had been a resident since December 2007. She was the beloved wife of the late Damon J. Swistak to whom she was married on June 26, 1954 and entered into eternal rest on December 14, 2007. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on October 19, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John Charles and Sarah Alice (Bruffill) Lawton. Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, Mrs. Swistak was a member of the graduating Class of 1954 at Attleboro High School. She was employed as a sales representative for the V.H. Blackinton Company in Attleboro Falls for 30 years prior to her retirement in September 1999. Mrs. Swistak was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Angle Stone Chapter #118, North Attleboro having served as Worthy Matron. She enjoyed watching and playing golf. She leaves a son: Joseph J. Swistak of Brockton; three beloved and admired grandchildren: Sarah N. Achin of North Attleboro; Donald H. Achin III of North Attleboro and Dillon E. Achin of North Attleboro and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Swistak was the mother of the late Karen Jean (Swistak) Achin who died on June 26, 1994. She was the sister of the late Earl R. Lawton, John C. Lawton and Albert Lawton. At Mrs. Swistaks request, there will be no ritual services conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star Angle Stone Chapter #118 during visitation. Carole L. Baker, Pastor of the Central Congregational Church, Attleboro Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.
