Margaret MacLean (Ambrose) Sheehan, 86, of Attleboro, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of William J. "Lee" Sheehan, Jr., to whom she was married on January 22, 1960.Born on April 28, 1930 in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony Ambrose and the late Jessie (MacLean) Cappucci.A graduate of Brighton High School, she was a resident of Attleboro for the past six years, having previously lived in Falmouth, Mashpee, and Newton, MA, where she and her husband raised their family. Margaret was a treasured Homemaker for her large family, and truly treasured life with them. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, painting, and crafts. She loved being by the ocean, trips to Bermuda, and time spent on Cape Cod. In addition to her husband, she is survived by cherished children: Thomas M. Sheehan and his wife, Susan D. Sheehan, of Oxford, MA; Paul W. Sheehan and his companion, Dianne Berry, of Southboro, MA; April C. (Sheehan) Burgio and her husband, Donald R. Burgio, of Attleboro, MA; Richard L. Sheehan and his wife, Nimol San, of Lowell, MA; and Jo-Ann Sheehan and her husband, Brahim Sidi, of Nashua, NH. She was the adoring grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and the sister of Roderick Ambrose of Hanson, MA; Mary (Ambrose) O'Lalor of Falmouth, MA; and Janis (Ambrose) Purcell of Albuquerque, NM. She leaves several nephews.Margaret was the loving grandmother of the late Hannah D. Sheehan, and the sister of the late Joseph Ambrose and the late Natalie Ambrose.Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Tuesday, October 11 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Children's room is available during visitation.Those in need of a local ride to the visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation.
