Margaret E. "Peg" (Guncheon) Gooch, 69, of Mansfield, MA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, MA. She was for many years the dear companion and best friend of Edmond J. Gordon of Mansfield. Born on October 20, 1946 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late James E. Guncheon, Sr. and Giovannina (DeRosa) Guncheon.Peg was a graduate of Hope High School, Providence, RI, and resided in Mansfield for the past six years, having previously lived in Texas where she worked for many years as a Legal Secretary. She was a woman who truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including her work and good food: especially sweets and seafood, particularly lobster, shrimp and crabs. In addition to her companion, Edmond J. Gordon, she is survived by her husband, Michael Gooch, Sr. of Houston, TX. She was the beloved mother of Michael Gooch, Jr. of Houston, TX, and Maureen Gooch of Ohio. Peg was the sister of Meredith I. (Guncheon) Valente of Providence, RI, and James E. Guncheon, Jr. She leaves one nephew and her wonderful caregiver for the past five years, Theresa F.
