Margaret Frances (Minot) Gagne, 87, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Life Care Center of Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert "Pete" P. Gagne who died on January 23, 2016.Born on November 2, 1930 in North Smithfield, RI, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Ellestien (Bishop) Minot.A graduate of Woonsocket High School, Margaret worked for more than twenty years as a Nurses Aid at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, before retiring in 1991.A resident of Attleboro for more than fifty years, she previously lived in Pawtucket, RI. She was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church in Attleboro where she served as a Deacon and was a member of the choir. She loved to travel, often taking short weekend trips, crocheting, knitting, playing the piano, and visiting the casino with her sisters. Margaret was an avid fan of the Red Sox, loved to bird watch, and diligently watched the Guiding Light on television every day. More than anything, she deeply loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events whenever she was able.Margaret was the loving mother of Karen J. (Gagne) Guard and her husband, Thomas J. Guard, of Attleboro Falls, MA, and the late David Philip Gagne, who died on December 1, 2017. She was the proud grandmother of Jonathan Gagne, Melissa Falzone, and Ian P. Graf, and the adoring great-grandmother of Emily Gagne, Avery Gagne, and Evan Falzone. She was the sister of Edith Fafard of Woonsocket, RI, and was predeceased by her siblings: Arthur Minot, Frank Minot, Raymond Minot, Russell Minot, Roy Minot, Harold Minot, Alton Minot, Chester Minot, Jr., Doris Lavalle, Ruth Hebert, Janet Hebert, and Betty Kozij. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Margaret by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, at which time Margaret will be laid to rest alongside her dear late husband.
