Margaret J. Dougher

December 27, 1940 — August 15, 2024

Margaret Jean "Pinky" (Franklin) Dougher, 83, of Wrentham, MA; formerly of North Attleboro, MA; passed away on August 15, 2024, at the Pond Home in Wrentham, MA where she had recently resided.  She was the wife of the late James David Dougher.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 27, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Carl Berger Franklin and the late Estelle (Hawley) Franklin.  Raised and educated in her native city of Chicago, she attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School.
After attending two years of college, she married and moved to Massachusetts, due to her first husband's job.
Margaret and her husband had four children, three daughters and a son.  After her marriage ended, Margaret went on to finish her college degree at Bridgewater State College.
She had many jobs through the years, her favorite was being a legislative aide to State Representative Peter Forman. She worked with him for ten years as he worked his way up to the House Minority Leader. Margaret then moved on to work for the Department of Public Health and the Department of Tourism.
A very accomplished woman, she volunteered for the Literacy Program in Attleboro, MA and was on the Board of the Attleboro Art Museum. Margaret was one of the founding members of Christmas Is for Kids in Attleboro, where she met so many of her dear friends.
Margaret was a very talented artist, who loved to paint and work with all different mediums. Some of her beautiful work adorned the walls of her room at the Pond Home.
Her faith is also very important to her, and she enjoyed saying the rosary. She celebrated her faith at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in North Attleboro.
Margaret's other favorite activities included playing Bridge; but her favorite was raising her dogs. She has been the dogmom to eleven dogs, so she treasured their occasional visit from therapy dogs at her residence.
She leaves her children: Margaret J. Nash of Mansfield, MA; Ann Marie Gardner of Germantown, New York; Albert P. Gardner and his wife, Lisa Gardner, of North Attleboro, MA and Kirsten E. Gardner of Hingham, MA; 8 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; her brother: Neil franklin of Los Bonos, California and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
She was the sister of the late Kay Kothe and the late Charles Franklin.
Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Tuesday, August 20. 2024, from 8:30 am until 9:30 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark, 105 Stanley Street, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA.
Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and a luncheon.
