Marcos A. Fernandez

Marcos A. Fernandez, 70, of Rehoboth, MA, died peacefully on November 23, 2020 at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI, after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Herminigilda (Gatchamian) Fernandez, to whom he was married for 48 years.
Born on May 8, 1950, in Zambales, Philippines, he was the son of the late Arturo and Isabelle (Almazan) Fernandez.
Marcos proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years. He then attended college for two years and worked for many years as a Chef at Lake Pearl Wrentham, before retiring.  A resident of Rehoboth for the past year, he previously lived in South Attleboro, MA and in Bourne, MA.
A man of faith, he was an active member of St. Theresa of the Child Parish and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a past Grand Knight.  Marcos loved cooking, gardening, and watching his Boston sports, as well as walking the mall with his friends. More than anything, he cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Herminigilda, he leaves his beloved daughters: Grace, and her partner, Adelia Carlos of Fall River, MA; and Karen, and her husband, Kevin Fuoco, of Rehoboth, MA. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Kaylee Surdam of Cranston, RI, and Alexis Fuoco of Rehoboth, MA.  He leaves many nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends. Marcos was the brother of the late Ernesto Fernandez and the late Alfredo Fernandez
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the mandatory use of facemasks, relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
Also with strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the mandatory use of facemasks, friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian  Burial on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish,  18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro, MA.
Graveside Services will immediately follow the funeral Mass in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
