Marcia Zilla Garfinkel

Marcia Zilla (Ross) Garfinkel, 82, of Arlington, VA, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 in Attleboro, MA at the home of her son, David W. Garfinkel. She was the beloved wife of the late Milton Garfinkel. Born on December 17, 1933 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul Ross and the late Fay (Auerbach) Ross.Mrs. Garfinkel truly enjoyed her work for the past eleven years as the Head Usher for the John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC. A resident of Arlington, VA for the last fifty-two years, she was a woman of many passions and interests. She volunteered her time to both a women's shelter and a Veteran's shelter in Arlington, VA. She loved to travel, particularly to the Spanish Mediterranean and Costa del Sol, and was adept at completing the NY Times crossword puzzles every Sunday. She was an avid reader and Bridge player, and delighted in champagne toasts. Without doubt, though, her greatest pride and joy was her cherished family, especially her treasured grandchildren. Mrs. Garfinkel is survived by her children: David W. Garfinkel and his wife, Tina McKeigue Garfinkel, of Attleboro, MA; and Dr. Daniel P. Garfinkel and his wife, Annette Nielson, of Manhattan, NY. She leaves her grandchildren: Lilith N. Garfinkel, Ava R. Garfinkel, Madelyn R. Garfinkel, and Liam R. Garfinkel. She was the sister of the late Ruth (Ross) Prayle, and leaves several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.Visitation has respectfully been omitted. Burial will be private in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, alongside her late husband.
