Manuel "Manny" C. Esmeraldo, 73, of Kimberly Drive, North Attleboro passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Carol A. (Rec) Esmeraldo to whom he was married on April 18, 1964 at St. Theresa of the Child Church in South Attleboro. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary the prior day. Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, on March 1, 1942, he was a son of the late John and the late Mary (Camera) Esmeraldo Simmons. Upon immigrating to the United States, he and his family settled in the Attleboro area. Mr. Esmeraldo was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and relocated to Plainville before moving to North Attleboro in 1970. He was employed as a factory worker for L. G. Balfour Company in Attleboro for 6 years prior to his retirement at the age of 59. He previously was employed by "Josten's of Minnesota" for 25 years. A devout Catholic, Mr. Esmeraldo served his church family at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church as an usher, collector and faithful member. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, North Attleboro, was a member of "Douglas Maynard and the Rythmakers" Band and enjoyed gardening. His most treasured times were those spent with his family creating lifelong memories to cherish. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he leaves his children: Melissa Ann Everson of North Attleboro and Michael W. Esmeraldo and his wife, Christine M. (Williams) Esmeraldo, of Norton; four grandchildren: Heather Everson, Tayla Everson, Jarrod Esmeraldo and Grace Esmeraldo; a great granddaughter: Andi St. Don; his siblings: Celina Coelho of Fall River, Virginia Richmond of Norton; Rita Maynard of Attlebroo; Patricia Phinney of Attleboro; Madeline Proulx of Attleboro and John Esmeraldo of Attleboro; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Cecilia Pimental and Connie Bombardier. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the nationally historic "Colonel Obed Robinson Home", 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 8:45 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas Frechette, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in may be made to the Sturdy Memorial Foundation, Attention: Development Office ,PO Box 2963, Attleboro, MA 02703 to benefit the respiratory rehabilitation program.
