Macolm E. Mackinnon

Malcolm "Eddie" E. MacKinnon, 74, of Wychunhas Avenue, East Wareham; a former Attleboro resident, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro where he had been a resident for the past month. He was the husband of Louise (Marvel) MacKinnon to whom he was married for 36 years. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on April 11, 1938, he was the only son born to the late Alexander Allan and Blanche Ruth (Innis) MacKinnon. He moved to Attleboro in his youth and was a 1957 graduate of Attleboro High School. He remained a resident of the City of Attleboro until moving to the family home in East Wareham almost 40 years ago. From the age of 16 until his retirement more than 50 years later, Mr. MacKinnon was employed as a model maker for Knobby Krafters in Attleboro. He enjoyed baseball games, boating, fishing, quahogging and lobstering. He treasured the times spent on cruises with his wife having enjoyed more than 18 cruises over the years to places including the Panama Canal and the inner and outer banks of Alaska. Mr. MacKinnon enjoyed times spent in his garden especially tending to his asparagus patch. In addition to his wife, he leaves two stepchildren: Carol A. Anderson of Seattle, Washington and Deborah M. Mellor of Mansfield; three step grandchildren and one step great grandchild; his beloved sister: Ruth A. Iaconis of North Attleboro; a nephew: Robert R. Iaconis, Jr. of North Attleboro; three nieces: Beth E. Barac of Franklin; Debra Ann Mac Roberts of North Attleboro and Donna M. Vine of North Attleboro and a second generation of cherished nieces and nephews. He was the stepfather of the late Diane L. Reichenberg. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will follow on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at North Purchase Cemetery, North Main Street, Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral service. Those in need of a ride to visitation may simply call (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Please omit flowers.
