Lydia M. (White) Avilla, 86, of North Avenue, Attleboro, died on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the former wife of the late Anthony H. White, Sr. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on November 26, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Francis Avilla, Sr. and Virginia (Medas) Avilla. She was raised and educated in Taunton and lived in the City of Attleboro for a total of 40 years having returned to the community from Lakeland, Florida in 2001. Ms. Avilla was employed as an undercover private detective and security officer having worked in investigative services, insurance and retail for many years prior to her retirement in 1981. She enjoyed spending time traveling with her family throughout New England, Cape Cod and New York. Ms. Avilla leaves her children: Deborah A. Spatcher and her husband, George I. Spatcher, Jr., Esquire, of Attleboro; Anthony H. White, Jr. and his wife, Debbie White, of South Attleboro; Dennis White and his wife, Kim White, of Attleboro Falls and Kimberly Avilla of Warwick, Rhode Island; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the mother of the late Dale M. Perron and the maternal grandmother of the late Ernest K. V. Robbio, Jr. Ms. Avilla was predeceased by her siblings: Francis Avilla, Jr., George Avilla and Mildred Macedo. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Attleboro with the Reverend F. Vernon Wright V, Pastor, officiating. The family will greet attendees following services as all are welcome to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Taunton followed by burial in the consecrated cemetery grounds.
