Lucille Jacqueline (Meunier) Metivier, 96, of Stoughton, MA, passed away peacefully at her home at Blue Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland Joseph Metivier who died on August 18, 2004.Born on April 24, 1921 in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo Meunier and the late Yvonne (Ponton) Meunier.Lucille worked for many years at Hasbro, Inc. in Central Falls, RI, before retiring. Prior to living in Stoughton, she had been a resident of Attleboro, MA, and previously lived in Pawtucket, RI. A woman of faith, she attended the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette for many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer, and had worked for Camp La Salette. Lucille also attended St. John the Evangelist's Church in Attleboro. She enjoyed camping and for years volunteered her time and efforts at Recycled Teenagers in Why, Arizona, an organization for which her late husband served as President.She is survived by her loving children: Raymond R. Metivier and his wife, Kathleen P. Metivier, of Cumberland, RI; Richard G. Metivier and his wife, Carol, of Glendale, AZ; Celeste P. (Metivier) Bourassa and her husband, Dennis M. Bourassa, of Pawtucket, RI; and Michael R. Metivier and his wife, Fionnuala Metivier, of Mansfield, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Lucille was the sister of Anita Fortin of North Providence, RI, and was predeceased by Marcel Meunier, Simone Bilby, Normand Meunier, Pauline Meunier, and Aline Larence. She leaves several nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Lucille by gathering for a Visitation on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Funeral on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist's Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA.Burial services will immediately follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Attleboro, at which time Lucille will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Roland.
