Lucille Mary (Gorden) Gonzalez, a retired Registered Nurse, 81, of 48 Newton Street, Attleboro, died on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the wife of Israel David Gonzalez to whom she was married on January 10, 1966. Born in the Brooklyn borough of New York, New York on May 12, 1931, Mrs. Gonzalez was a daughter of the late Patrick and Lucille (Hyatt) Gorden. She was raised and educated in New York and was a graduate of Wyckoff Heights School of Nursing - Brooklyn. She began her career as a licensed practical nurse and years later returned to obtain her qualifications to become a registered nurse. Mrs. Gonzalez was employed at various facilities in New York City and Albuquerque, New Mexico prior to her retirement. She moved to Attleboro in February 2011 after having lived in New Mexico for more than 40 years. Her favorite pastimes included trips to the casino and keeping current on world, national and local events and politics. Mrs. Gonzalez was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she leaves her daughter: Diane G. Imre and her husband, Frank Imre, with whom she resided in Attleboro; three grandchildren: Scott Black and his wife, Elizabeth Black, of Attleboro; Nicole Black Gallagher and her husband, Dennis Gallagher, of Rochester, New Hampshire and Thomas Imre of Attleboro; five great grandchildren: Stephanie and Brendan Black of Attleboro; twins Megan and Camryn Gallagher both of Rochester, New Hampshire and Hannah Gallagher of Rochester, New Hampshire and extended family members and friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
