Lucienne "Jeanne" (LaFrance) Stevens, 80, of Fairhaven, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Alden Court Nursing Facility in Fairhaven. She was the beloved wife of the late George Stevens, who died on September 14, 2007.
Born on August 17, 1938 in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. LaFrance and the late Lucienne J. LaFrance.
A resident of Fairhaven for the past five years, she had previously lived for many years in New Bedford.
Jeanne was a devoted homemaker for her family. She was a woman of great faith and devotion and attended St. Lawrence Martyr Church and St. Anthony of Padua Parish in New Bedford. She was an avid walker who enjoyed playing Bingo and solitaire. More than anything in her life, she simply loved spending time with her family.
Jeanne was the loving mother of Roger P. Stevens and Michael Stevens, both of New Bedford. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Thomas R. Stevens of Dartmouth, MA. Jeanne was the sister of Lillian LaFrance of Hudson Falls, NY, and was predeceased by her siblings: Claire Sylvia and Walter LaFrance. She leaves several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 1359 Acushnet Ave, New Bedford, MA.
A Graveside Service will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford, MA.
