Louise A. (Tennant) Jones, 95, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Garden Place Healthcare in Attleboro, MA. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Jones.
Born in Attleboro, MA on March 26, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Russell F. Tennant and the late Jesse Pearl (Dyer) Tennant. She was a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro and was a 1944 graduate of Attleboro High School. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of the Modern School of Fashion and Design in Boston in 1946.
A woman with a flare for fashion and style, Mrs. Jones designed clothing and made suits with impeccable detail. She worked as a custom tailor in Providence, Rhode Island and at J. Fox on Washington Street in Boston, MA in the hat department. She will be remembered for her grace and elegance.
Following her marriage, she was employed as a secretary at the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 40 years prior to her retirement.
A woman of strong faith, she was a lifelong member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Attleboro where she was a member and past president of the Triple-M Club and was a member of the Tau Lambda Society.
Having been in a train wreck in Boston in the 1940's, Louise was never able to obtain a driver's license but finally at the age of 66 she began driving.
She was a trustee, former president, and an honorary member of the Florence Sweet House. Mrs. Jones was a member and had served as the president of the former Etario Club, Attleboro. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Hope Chapter, Attleboro and a member and past president of the walking club at the Rev. Gordon N. Larson Senior Center, Attleboro.
She was the dedicated mother of Rees F. Jones and his wife, Sally L. (Hudson) Jones of Attleboro, MA; grandmother of Nathaniel R. Jones of Bellingham, MA; Rebecca M Jones of Lincoln, Rhode Island; Roy L. Davis III and his wife, Amanda Davis, of North Scituate, Rhode Island and Michelle Gonsalves of Tiverton, Rhode Island; her great grandchildren: Isabella Jones of Bellingham, MA; Evan Moniz, U.S. Army, and his wife, Mary Moniz, in Washington State; Brendan Reynolds of Lincoln, Rhode Island; Miranda Davis of Jacksonville, Florida; Ethan Davis in Washington State; Meadow Davis of Summerfield, Florida and Damon Davis of Taunton, MA; great great grandmother of Maison Brown of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother: Mowry E. Tennant of Attleboro, MA; three generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
She was the sister of the late Robert A. Tennant, Daniel Tennant, and Jane E. Sylvester.
A private service will be held in the "Commonwealth Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will be in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.
A public Celebration of Louise's Life for her extended family and friends will be held at a later time.
