Louis Leo Yurek, 72, of King Philip Road, Norton, died on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Marie E. (Riley) Yurek to whom he was married on September 15, 1962. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 25, 1939, Mr. Yurek was a son of the late Louis and Anna (Brunnick) Yurek. He was raised and educated in Boston where he was a 1958 graduate of Boston Trade High School. Mr. Yurek resided in Norton for the past 13 years having previously resided in North Attleboro for 19 years and was a former resident of Bellingham, Plainville and the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston. He was employed as a welder for the Gillette Company in Boston for 15 years and later for Cumberland Engineering in Pawtucket, Rhode Island for five years prior to his retirement. His favorite pastimes included camping, traveling, home construction, renovation and remodeling. With fond memories, his family recalls his love for driving as he would drive, drive, drive. In addition to his wife of 48 years, he leaves four children: James L. Yurek of Taunton; Thomas R. Yurek and his wife, Kathryn (Read) Yurek, of Attleboro; David J. Yurek and his wife, Kristine R. (Dolan) Yurek, of North Attleboro and Trindalee Yurek and her fianc, Eric M. Batchelder, of North Attleboro; five grandchildren: Lindsay Yurek of North Attleboro; Thomas Yurek of Attleboro; Justin Yurek of North Attleboro; James Batchelder of North Attleboro and Daniel Batchelder of North Attleboro; two sisters: Mary Yurek of Abington and Patricia Shea and her husband, William Shea, of Abington; a brother: Richard Yurek and his wife, Ann Yurek, of Wilmington; many nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Victor Chaupetta, M.S., of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, Park Street, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
