Louis Aaron Lasker

Louis Aaron Lasker, 86, of Crestwood Drive, Cumberland, Rhode Island, died on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Thorburn) Lasker to whom he was married on December 22, 1950. Born in the Bronx borough of New York City, New York on October 15, 1928, he was a son of the late Goodman and Hannah (Beckerman) Lasker. He was a graduate of Brooklyn High School and attended Brown University. Mr. Lasker was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the United States Army. He was a self-employed sales representative in the education market for many years prior to his retirement at the age of 68. Mr. Lasker was a resident of Cumberland for more than 50 years. He was a member of Bristol Lodge AF & AM in North Attleboro for more than 50 years and was a member of the Colonial Craftsman - Massachusetts Chapter and the Shriners. He enjoyed traveling, projects around his home and was considered a "jack of all trades". Mr. Lasker had a love for antique trains and antique model cars and an ear for classical music with a love for the Boston Pops and concerts at the Boston Symphony Hall. In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter and a son; two granddaughters: Amanda M. Lasker of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Shannon M. Bradley in Florida; five great grandchildren all in Florida; a sister-in-law: Cheryl Keniston of Norton and several extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:30 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A ritual service conducted by the Bristol Lodge AF & AM will take place immediately at the conclusion of visitation followed by family remembrances. Family and friends are welcome to join the funeral cortege from the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 8:30 AM and immediately preceding to the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne for a 10:00 AM committal service with military honors. There will be no services in the funeral home prior to proceeding to the cemetery. Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Lasker's name may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114 or by calling 617-722-3000.
