Lorraine (Dussault) Stapleton, 89, of North Attleboro, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Life Care Center of Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late John L. Stapleton.Born on July 4, 1927 in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Joseph Dussault and the late Marie Anne (Nadeau) Dussault. Lorraine was a graduate of East High School in Pawtucket, RI and attended Secretarial School at Bristol Community College. Before retiring from employment, she worked as a Secretary for the Attleboro Mental Health Clinic, and for the law firm of Armstrong, Pollis & Clapp.A resident of North Attleboro for the last fifty-eight years, Lorraine was a member of the National Shrine of Our Lady La Salette in Attleboro, The Leon Mathews Senior Center/Parkinson's Support Group, Christian Family Movement (CFM), Criceos, Pre-Cana, An Advocate for Unwed Mothers, Fresh Air Children, and Interracial/Inter-religion Groups. Lorraine enjoyed art, camping, music, nature, sunsets, and her beloved cats throughout the years.She is survived by her six cherished children: Kathy (Stapleton) Nikrewicz (John) of Providence, RI; Suzanne (Stapleton) Latimer (Charles, III) of Mt. Holly, NJ; Michael Stapleton of Pawtucket, RI; John Stapleton (Colleen) of Foster, RI; Laurie Stapleton (Bryan) of West Palm Beach, FL; and Mary-Beth (Stapleton) Lamoureux (Joseph E. Jr.,) of Cumberland, RI. She leaves thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she treasured. Lorraine was the youngest sister of the late Bernadette (Dussault) Joyce, the late Eveline (Dussault) Cavanaugh, and the late Lucille (Dussault) Cosgrove. She leaves several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Children's room is available during visitation.Those in need of a local ride to the visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service immediately following visitation on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will be privately held in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery in Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Rhode Island Chapter, P.O. Box 41659, Providence, RI, 02940.
