Lorraine I. Sherman

Lorraine I. (Duquette) Sherman, 88, of Swansea, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA.  She was the beloved wife of the late William I. Sherman.
Born on July 12, 1933, in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Duquette and the late Imelda (Larrivee) Duquette.
A resident of Swansea for most of her life, having previously lived in Fall River, Lorraine worked for many years as a dedicated machine operator and seamstress before retiring in 1998.
The focus of Lorraine's life was truly her cherished family. She was a skilled and talented seamstress who loved sewing and making her own clothing.  Lorraine was an avid reader, enjoyed adult coloring books, and roller skating in her younger years.
She was the loving mother of William E. Sherman and his wife, Robin, of Swansea, MA; Michael Sherman and his late wife, Peggy; Larry A. Sherman and his wife, Carolyn, of Riverside, RI; Joyce A. Santos and her husband, Dennis, of Swansea, MA; and Bruce E. Sherman and his wife, Lisa, of Somerset, MA.  Lorraine was the sister of Connie DeCotret of Fall River, MA; Jackie Carvalho of Fall River, MA; Norman Duquette of Westport, MA; and the late Robert Duquette. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and leaves several nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends.
