Lorraine I. (LaBelle) King, 88, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021, at the Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Taunton, MA. She was the beloved wife of Raymond E. King to whom she was married for sixty-eight years.
Born in the family home in the Dodgeville neighborhood of Attleboro on December 22, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Louis P. LaBelle and the late Beatrice M. (Brousseau) LaBelle Souza.
Lorraine was raised and educated in Attleboro where she was a 1959 graduate of Attleboro High School. She earned her nursing degree from Rhode Island College in later years and was employed for various hospitals and nursing facilities before working for Dr. George Vaida for several years until her retirement.
She had been a North Attleboro resident since 1958. A woman of strong religious beliefs, she was a communicant of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mary, North Attleboro.
Lorraine will be lovingly remembered for the memories she and her family created at their mountainside home in Groton, New Hampshire, her love for square dancing with her husband, and never missing a single occasion to send a greeting card to a loved one or friend. She was known for her love for cooking, particularly pastries and devoting and caring for everyone. Her husband recalls the fun times they shared during the winter in Jensen Beach, Florida with Raymond's service buddies. None of the family can forget that summer when Ray and Lorraine took the entire young family in an old van for a drive to California.
In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her daughter: Julie A. King-Deininger and her husband, Kenneth Deininger, of North Attleboro, MA; her daughter-in-law: Cynthia E. (Hammond) King of Johnston, RI, wife of Lorraine's late son, Gary M. King who died on July 15, 2014; seven grandchildren and five, soon to be six, great-grandchildren.
