Lori Jean (Mercier) Bateson, 59, of South Attleboro, MA passed away on February 3, 2021 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of James "Jim" Robert Bateson Jr.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on May 18, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. Mercier and the late Evelyn R. (Vaillancourt) Mercier.
She resided in South Attleboro, MA for the past ten years, having moved to the community from North Attleboro, MA, where she grew up and attended North Attleboro Public schools.
Lori's soothing voice answered the phones at the Law Offices of Byron L. Taylor in North Attleboro, MA as a legal secretary/receptionist for 30 years.
She will be lovingly and forever remembered as a doting aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She treasured the time spent playing board games and watching movies together, earning the title of "Best Aunt Ever".
Lori loved the tranquility and peacefulness of swans, enjoyed crafts, gardening, cooking, music and cats and dogs.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a stepdaughter, Ashley Davis, and her husband, Orion Davis; their children: Oliver Davis and Piper Davis, all of Thornton, NH; her siblings: Debra "Debbie" A. Taylor and her husband, Byron L. Taylor, of Seekonk, MA; Edward "Ed" Robert Mercier and his wife, Michelle Mercier, of Fryeburg, Maine; and Rachel L. Robichaud and her husband, Gavin J. Robichaud of Tiverton, Rhode Island, as well as several adored nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and many dear friends.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
