Lois E. (Hughes) Schirner, 91, of Park Street, Attleboro; formerly of Maple Terrace, Attleboro, died on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro where she had been a resident for the past four years. She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Richard Schirner who died in 1999. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 3, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Ada (Hamilton) Hughes. She attended Attleboro schools and resided in Attleboro for most of her life. Mrs. Schirner was private duty licensed practical nurse for many years prior to her retirement. She leaves a daughter: Linda L. Silva of South Attleboro; two grandchildren: Robert Brian Silva, Sr. and his wife, Dawn Marie (Beauregard) Silva, of North Attleboro and Kimberly A. Arrighie of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John "Jack" Hughes, Everett Hughes, Ernest Hughes, Irving Hughes, Marjorie Rouse and Ruth Hughes. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A private graveside funeral service will be held at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro with the Rev. Kelly Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, North Attleboro, officiating. Burial will follow. Memorial donations in Mrs. Schirner's name may be made to the Resident Activities Fund of the Life Care Center of Attleboro, 969 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
