Lisa Beth (Newark) Larson, 63, of North Attleboro, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI with her beloved husband, Ricky L. Larson, by her side.Born on May 26, 1952 in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Martin Newark and the late Faith (Grant) Newark.A graduate of Westborough High School, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Douglass College, Rutgers University, in 1974. She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Music Education from Holy Names University, specializing in The Kodaly method of music instruction. For thirty years, Lisa taught Music Education and conducted student choruses from Brockton Public Elementary Schools in Brockton, MA. She inspired countless elementary-aged children to appreciate and delight in the joys of listening to music and creating music together. Lisa was a resident of North Attleboro for more than twenty-five years.Her life was filled with many loves, interests, and enjoyments, including the love of teaching children, music, and family; and especially the love of her three children and grandson. She enjoyed walking in the woods, camping, playing tennis, bicycling, her cat, "Holly", her late dogs, and time spent at her family home in West Dennis on Cape Cod. Lisa could often be found reading.In addition to her husband, Ricky, she leaves her cherished children: sons Sasha M. Larson of North Attleboro, MA; and Tory L. Larson, and his fiancée, Tina, of North Attleboro, MA; and daughter Ashleigh F. Beland, and her late husband, Matt J. Beland, of North Attleboro, MA; her brother: Brian Newark and his wife, Cindy Newark, of East Douglas, MA; and her sisters: Madeline (Newark) Boehnke, and her late husband, Bill Boehnke, of Grafton, MA; Carrie M. (Newark) Dubinsky, and her husband, John Dubinsky, of Sutton, MA. She was the treasured grandmother of Paxton A. Beland. Lisa leaves her dear nieces and nephews: Becky, Cierra, Dale, Reece, Cam, and Marissa. She also leaves her best friend from college, Carol Dyer and her husband, John Dyer, of Milton, MA; several cousins; her extended family; and many dear friends. Visitation has respectfully been omitted.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Murray Unitarian-Universalist Church, 505 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro, Massachusetts, officiated by Rev.
