Lisa Marie Ahlquist, 57, of North Attleboro, MA passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA where she had been a patient for the past 8 weeks.Born in Boston, MA on September 3, 1965, she was the daughter of Donna (Mendes) Ahlquist-Beach and the late Jon Arnold Ahlquist. She was the stepdaughter of Robert A. Beach, of North Attleboro, MA. Educated in North Attleboro, she was a 1983 graduate of North Attleboro High School where she excelled at softball. She was co-captain the varsity team and chosen as a Sun Chronicle All Star. Following high school she attended the University of Massachusetts - Amherst and then transferred to Dean Junior College where she received an associate degree.
(Summa cum laude) in mathematics and science. Following graduation, she enrolled  in the University of South Florida before transferring to Hillsborough Community College where she received another associate degree, graduating as a Registered Nurse. Lisa returned to Massachusetts, attended Bristol Community College where she graduated with an associates degree in humanities.For the past 12 years, Lisa was employed as a Recovery Bridger with The Community Counseling of Bristol County, Inc. in Norton, MA. where she loved assisting her clients.She attended Waters Church, North Attleboro.Lisa was an avid sports fan of all NE professional teams, and was a Nascar enthusiast, going to the Daytona 500 on two occasions. She also attended the Kentucky Derby. A lover of blues and country music, she traveled extensively attending hundreds of concerts.  Florida held a special place in her heart, particularly the Pass-a-Grille Beach in St. Petersburg. It was there she would enjoy relaxing in the sun with sand between her toes enjoying a good book and worshipping the majestic sunsets. Playing the guitar was a favorite pastime and she treasured spending the holidays in the company of her family who could always count on Lisa to pass out the family's Christmas gifts. That was her holiday job. Her family and many friends will recall the loving, giving soul that she was. A truly kind person with a great sense of humor.In addition to her mother and stepfather, she leaves her twin brother: James J. Ahlquist of North Attleboro, MA; her step siblings: Farrah Garnham and her husband, Brian, of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Aaron Beach and his wife, Stephanie, of Gloucester, Virginia; her aunts and uncles: Patricia Hamel and her husband, Ronald, of Attleboro, MA; Steven Mendes and his wife, Lynne, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Jean Mendes, wife of the late, Edward "Babe" Mendes, of Attleboro, MA and Mary Poirier and her husband, Robert, of Attleboro, MA and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and many dear friends.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Memorial Visitation on Sunday, April 30, 2023, 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lisa Marie's name may be made to the American Heart Association by accessing www.heart.org.For additional information or to send the family a written expression of sympathy, please visit an online guest book at www.dyer-lakefuneralhome.com.Arrangements under the direction of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. 508-695-0200
