Lionel L. DeBlois, 93, of North Attleboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of the late June Belle (Eastman) DeBlois who died on November 30, 2002. Born in Quebec, Canada on March 24, 1920, he was a son of the late Emile and Louise (Salois) DeBlois. Mr. DeBlois was a veteran of the United States Army 82nd Parachute Division serving his country proudly during World War II. He was employed by Swift and Fisher, Inc. in North Attleboro as a solderer and polisher and the Town of North Attleboro Parks and Recreation Department as Superintendent for over 20 years prior to his retirement in 1979. Lionel's favorite pastimes included woodworking and sketching and he was an avid reader. He enjoyed the times playing cards with his daughters and loved to do yard work. Mr. DeBlois is survived by his four children: Lori J. DeBlois and her partner, Kelly B. Dunn of Cumberland, RI; Vicki A. Zurawel and her husband, Jonathan A. Zurawel of North Attleboro; Tammi Audette and her husband, Robert A. Audette of Kissimmee, FL; Clifton "Rocky" Sauerlinder and his wife, Helen M. Sauerlinder of Seekonk. He also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Lionel was the father of the late Linda Thomas, Dianne Nelson and Cheryl L. Perry. He was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with Full Military Honors on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend funeral services immediately following the visitation on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 4:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, North Attleboro. Children's room available during the visitation and funeral services. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro will be private.
