Linda K. Jones Boonstra

November 21, 1949 — January 14, 2021

Linda Kristine Jones Boonstra, 71, of Rehoboth, MA, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - West Campus in Boston, MA.  She was the beloved wife of Albert Creighton Boonstra.
Born in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City on November 21, 1949, she was a daughter of the late John Herbert Jones and the late Marion D. (Horn) Jones.
Raised and educated on Long Island, NY, where she lived in both Wyandanch and West Islip, she was a graduate of West Islip High School, Class of 1967.  Upon graduation, she worked as a Secretary for Grumman Aircraft Engineering, as a Flight Attendant for Oversees National Airlines, and as a Block Operator for the Long Island Railroad, until moving to Massachusetts. There, she was both a Hostess and a Banquet Manager for several restaurants. She especially loved working and planning functions at El Torito, including her own wedding!
Linda met her husband, Al, in Walpole, MA. They were married in 1991 and eventually settled in Rehoboth, MA, where Linda found her true calling working with animals. For many years, she worked as a dog walker at Doggy Daycare in Attleboro and then as a receptionist at DeWitt Animal Clinic, helping pets and their owners. She also worked closely with Trap, Neuter, and Release organizations in her pursuit of rescuing feral cats and could not resist adopting some of them. In 1998, she began her own business, Linda's Pet Sitting Service, until her retirement.
In addition to her dear husband, Al, she leaves her cherished sister, Karen Jones-Johnson of Walpole, MA.  Affectionately known as "Auntie Lala", she is also survived by her beloved niece, Kristine, and her husband Kory Lamoureux; a grandniece and grandnephew: Korralyn and Russell Lamoureux, also of Walpole, MA; as well as many cousins and friends across the country.
All services will be privately held. A celebration of Linda's life will be planned by her family when it is once again safe to gather.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's memory to a "No-Kill" cat shelter of one's choice.
