Linda A. (Jeffrey) Johnson, 85, of Cumberland, R.I. died on Monday Oct. 9, 2023, after a long illness at the St. Antione Residence in North Smithfield, R.I.
Linda was born on March 9, 1938, in Providence, R.I. to Robert I. and Esther G. (Carlson) Jeffrey. Growing up in Pawtucket surrounded by multiple generations of family, Linda graduated from the former Pawtucket West Senior High School in 1956.
She was married to the love of her life, David S. Johnson, in 1961. They resided in Cumberland where Linda was the payroll supervisor at Ann & Hope for many years, retiring in 2000. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cleaning, and decorating for the holidays.
Sadly, Linda was predeceased by her husband David in 2012, her sister Marcia S.. (Jeffrey) Baker in 2001, and brother James R. Jeffrey in 2019.
She leaves behind her son: David A. Johnson of Cumberland, RI; her daughter: Donna A. (Johnson) Henschel of Uxbridge, MA; two grandsons: Kyle M. Henschel and Jake A. Henschel plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, 02763.
A private graveside service will be held at the Rhode island Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
