Linda Wheeler
Cassidy
Feb 26, 1968 — Oct 11, 2026
Linda Wheeler Cassidy, 58, of Taunton, MA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 11, 2026.
Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of Lester and Dorothy Wheeler.
Linda was the loving wife of Stephen Cassidy.
Linda grew up in Foxboro, MA where she lived until 1993. Linda and Stephen purchased a house in Taunton, MA that she turned into a loving home. She raised two amazing sons, Shane and Dylan, who were the source of her greatest pride and joy. She taught them everything imaginable which helped make them into the men they are today.
In her younger years she volunteered at Southwood Community Hospital as a candy striper assisting with patient needs including care, support, and companionship. She went on to work there full time for many years in both Food Service and Medical Billing. Although she worked in various roles in the Food Service industry, she was best known by her friends and family for her passion and creativity as an artist. A few of the many things she liked included pastel drawings, paintings, wood burnings, sculptures, custom sign making and countless other artistic endeavors. She preferred to apply her creativity to whatever inspired her at the time. In recent years she enjoyed having her creations displayed and sold at shops in both Walpole and Middleboro, MA. She loved spending time with family and friends enjoying pleasant conversation over a great meal. Additionally, she very much enjoyed spending time with her dog, Zelda. She treasured time spent taking her for walks with her many neighborhood friends and their dogs.
Linda was also extremely handy, which was a trait she learned from her father. She never backed down from tackling any task that needed to be done. In fact, many of her favorite presents over the years were power tools. However, she never hesitated to buy them for herself if needed to complete a job. She truly was a very special person who was smart, funny, witty, strong, kind, compassionate and caring. She was a great role model for her family, always leading by example.
Linda's life centered around family of which she was fiercely protective. She hosted and cooked the meals for every birthday, holiday, and every other occasion. She was what made every occasion special. Linda leaves behind her family and many friends who will greatly miss her.
Besides her husband, Stephen, she is survived by Shane Cassidy, Dylan Cassidy, and her brother Lester Wheeler.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Visitation on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 4PM until 6PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
