Lina Maria Mazuera de Sotelo, 76, of Greensburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Onsted, MI, at the home of her son and surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Augusto Sotelo, MD, whom she married on October 5, 1961.
Born on January 3, 1944 in Colombia, she was the daughter of the late Pablo Emilio Mazuera and the late Louiza (Zambrano) Mazuera.
A resident of Greensburg for forty-nine years, she was a caring and devoted homemaker for her family who would affectionately refer to herself as a "Domestic Goddess" Lina was a woman of faith and attended Our Lady of Grace Church in Greensburg for many years. She enjoyed water painting, playing Canasta, and swimming at the YMCA. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her cherished grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Augusto, she leaves her loving children: Dr. Carlos Sotelo and his wife, Michelle; Dr. Hugo A. Sotelo and his wife, Glenda; and Dr. Pablo Sotelo. Lina was the proud and adoring grandmother of Alexis Sotelo, Olivia Sotelo, Tatiana Sotelo, Catarina Sotelo, and Hugo Sotelo. She was the dear sister of Aneyda Mazuera Piñeros, and was predeceased by her brothers, Benjamin Mazuera and Antonio Mazuera. She leaves several nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends.
Visitation has respectfully been omitted.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 1011 Mount Pleasant Road, Greensburg, PA.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, 179 Greensburg-Donohoe Station, Greensburg, PA.
