Lewis A. White, Sr., of East Falmouth, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth, MA. Born in Baltimore, MD on June 15, 1930, he was the son of the late James White, DDS, and Mary White.Mr. White was a resident of East Falmouth for the past thirty-five years, having previously resided in New York. A passionate Psychiatric Social Worker and Educator, before retiring he worked for many years in both private practice and teaching, including as the Administrator of the Wiltwyck School for Boys in New York and at Simmons College in Boston, MA. Mr. White held a Master's degree in Social Work from Boston University.He proudly and honorably served our country from 1950-1954 as a Captain in the United States Army during the Korean War period.Mr. White led a life filled with diverse interests, including photography, astronomy, sailing, landscaping, reading, politics, travel, and history.He is survived by his two beloved children: Lewis A. White, Jr. of Huntington, NY, and Cynthia K. Horton of New Rochelle, NY; four cherished grandchildren: Lewis A. White, III, Lauren Amanda Smith, Khadija Horton, and Jasmine Sierra White; as well as six nieces and nephews.Mr. White was the brother of the late Sarah White, James White, and Randolph White.Visitation has respectfully been omitted.Private burial services will be held at a later date.For additional information or to send the family a written expression of sympathy, please visit an on-line guest book at
