Leonard "Kipper" Manton Greenleaf Jr., 73, of Attleboro, MA, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne R. (Provost) Greenleaf who died on June 14, 2016.
Born on November 7, 1947, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Leonard Manton Greenleaf Sr. and the late Ruth (Barrett) Greenleaf.
A resident of Attleboro for the past fifty years, he worked for forty-four years as a machinist for the Foxboro Company in Foxboro, MA, before retiring in 2017.
Leonard proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army.
He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Red Sox. Leonard enjoyed bowling and for a time played in a league with his friends. In his younger years he played baseball and then softball and was a member of a team through the Foxboro Company. He especially loved the simple pleasure of watching baseball with his family. Leonard was a skilled handyman and woodworker and a truly hardworking man. He was a devoted and loving father and friend who was always there for anyone who needed him. More than anything, Leonard treasured spending time with his family and held a special place in his heart for his family's faithful companion, "Brady".
Leonard has reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, his late wife, Jeanne. He is survived by his loving children: Leonard "Skip" M. Greenleaf III of Attleboro, MA, and Ashley Greenleaf and her husband, Brian Kasper, of Orlando, FL. He was the proud and truly adoring grandfather of Brant Greenleaf and his fiancée, Sarah C. Clark of Attleboro, MA, and Shane Greenleaf of Attleboro, MA. Leonard was the brother of Robert Greenleaf of Attleboro, MA; the late Phyllis (Greenleaf) Johnson; and the late David Greenleaf. He leaves his extended family who was always very dear to him, and many good friends.
All services for Leonard will be private.
