Leon "Lee" John Shumosic, 49, of North Washington Street, Norton, died on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on May 28, 1963, he was the son of the late Leo and Eleanor (Jablonski) Shumosic. He was a graduate of St. Mark's Academy in Wilmington, Delaware and earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. Mr. Shumosic began his professional career with Bose Corporation in 1987 as a mechanical engineer until 1998 when he served the company as an Engineering Project Manager, U.S. Theater and then from 2002- 2004 as an engineering manager. From 2004 - 2007 he was in the Business Systems Planner-Engineering Operational Group. He left Bose Corporation in 2007 and was employed as the Vice President of Engineering and Quality at TracRac, Inc. He later became a self-employed consultant and contractor and returned to the Bose Corporation as a Business and Application Strategist and later at Sensata Technologies as a manager in the General Motors Customer Quality Program. Mr. Shumosic was employed by Nypro as an engineering systems manager from 2010 - 2011 and earlier this year was an engineering systems consultant for Motorola. An ardent race car fan and driver, Mr. Shumosic raced with Sports Car Club of America - SCCA, driving both Spec Racer and Formula racecars. He was a fan of the New England Patriots and was an avid golfer. Times spent on the beaches of Newport, Rhode Island with his daughter, Alexa were most enjoyable. He leaves his beloved and treasured daughter: Alexa Lee Sousa-Shumosic of Norton and her mother: Stephanie A. Sousa of Norton; a sister: Judith Shumosic-Murphy of Dover, Delaware; extended family members and countless special friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 4:40 - 7:30 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a local ride to visitation simply call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral immediately following visitation on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 7:30 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with Rev. Victor Chaupetta, MS of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, Park Street, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Please do not send flowers.
