Lena M. (Ringuette) Watters, 88, a life-long resident of North Attleboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Raymond Joseph Watters, Sr., who passed away on September 23, 1984. Born in Central Falls, RI, on May 15, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Pierre and Adeline (Senecal) Ringuette. Mrs. Watters was a graduate of North Attleboro High School, Class of 1942. She was employed as a bench worker at Gaudette Leather in North Attleboro for over 37 years, prior to her retirement in 2001. Lena was a devoted Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Church in North Attleboro. Mrs. Watters loved and cherished her family, and enjoyed traveling to see them. She was a member of the Live Wires Club and P.E.A.L. Club. Lena loved to exercise, enjoyed dancing, particularly line dancing, and belonged the the Side Splitters Square Dancing Club. Mrs. Watters is survived by her children: Janet C. Laplante and her husband, George Laplante of Kinsman, OH; Peter A. Watters of San Francisco, CA; Karen M. McNiff and her husband, Paul McNiff of Athol, MA; Dawn A. Withers and her companion, Jack King of Attleboro; Tina J. Webb and her husband, Craig of Cumberland, RI; one sister: Florida Riendeau of North Attleboro; eight grandchildren; five great-granchildren; many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her companion and dance partner of many years, Robert Ruest of North Attleboro. She was the mother of the late Raymond J. Watters, who passed away on July 31, 1966 and great-grandmother of the late Nathan R. McNiff, who passed on September 12, 2013. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the "Commonwealth Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room is available during the visitation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro, with Reverend David Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
