Lawrence Alan Rich, Sr.

Lawrence Alan Rich, Sr. 80, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2013 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. He was the beloved and loving husband of the late Lois Marie (Fehl) Rich to whom he was married on December 1, 1956 and who predeceased him on December 5, 2011. Born on November 9, 1932, he was a son of the late Edward A. Rich and the late Winnifred (Alderson) Rich of Wakefield. Lawrence was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1950, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. A resident of North Attleboro since 1989, Lawrence previously resided in Foxboro. A Mechanical Engineer, he was a hard-working and dedicated employee of The Foxboro Company for more than thirty years, having retired in 1986. He was a member of the Union Church of South Foxboro, and enjoyed boating, woodworking, and carpentry, and loved maps. Lawrence proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, having been inducted into the service on February 2, 1953. He honorably served until his date of separation on January 29, 1955. While in the Army, Lawrence was trained in photo intelligence, and was the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. In addition to his cherished late wife and parents, he leaves three loving children: Katherine A. White of North Attleboro; Cheryl M. Campbell and her husband, Craig Campbell, of New Boston, New Hampshire, and Lawrence A. Rich, Jr. and his wife, Shirley A. (Johnson) Rich, of Lakeville; five grandchildren: Jennifer White of North Attleboro; Nathaniel White and his wife, Margarette (Moore) White, of North Attleboro; Abigayle Rich of Lakeville; Cameron Campbell of New Boston, New Hampshire and Emma Rich of Lakeville; a brother, Edward A. Rich and his wife Barbara (Hewitt) Rich of Pittsfield, New Hampshire, one niece and one nephew, and many great nieces, nephews, as well as extended family members and dear friends. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Union Church of South Foxboro located at 384 South Street in Foxboro, Massachusetts with the Rev. Bill Dudley, Pastor, officiating. Private burial at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro will be at a later date.
