Lawrence "Larry" Stuart Crowley, 77, Plainville, died suddenly on Thursday, October 30, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro . He was the husband of Dorothy "Dotty" Ann (Ryan) Crowley, to whom he was married to for 55 beautiful years. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Lawrence F. and Degna (Stuart) Crowley. He was the Owner/President of Martin Homes, Inc. in Seekonk for over 50 years and co-owner and operator with his sons of CMC Engineering in East Providence, Rhode Island. Mr. Crowley entered the United States Marine Corps in 1955, transferred to the Marine Corps Reserves in 1957, until honorably fulfilling his obligation to the Reserves in 1963. Mr. Crowley was known for his devotion to his grandchildren and their sports. A die-hard sports enthusiast, he had been a coach for the Seekonk Youth Hockey for many years. Mr. Crowley also was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. In addition to his wife, Mr. Crowley leaves two sons: Larry D. Crowley and his wife Janette C. (Stafford) Crowley of Cumberland; Michael S. Crowley and his wife Michelle C. (Begin) Crowley of North Attleboro; two brothers and two sisters: James C. Crowley of Hallendale, Florida; Walter Crowley of Boston; Beth Greene of Tewksbury; Ann R. Gravelle of Seattle, WA; five beloved grandchildren: Ryan S. Crowley; Lauren D. Crowley; Jacob M. Crowley; Taylor J. Crowley; Nicholas D. Crowley and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 4-8 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 8:45 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Martha's Church in Plainville, with Father William Schmidt, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne.
