Latha (Lakshmanan) Ganapathi, 67, of Cambridge, MA, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA on September 21, 2023.
Born on July 28, 1956, in Chennai, India, she was a daughter of the late filmmaker Vidwan Lakshmanan and the late Jaya (Balasubramaniam) Lakshmanan. The youngest of three girls, including Sudha and Usha (deceased), she was raised in India where she earned her bachelor's degree in the sciences.
In her earlier years, she was employed in banking services, including at Bank of America. Her family delighted in her delicious, home cooked meals. She was also a skilled watercolor painter and possessed a zest for travel and fine art. Beloved around Boston, she retained close ties to family and friends back in India, as well.
A treasured wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her husband, Sankaran Ganapathi, her son, Varun Ganapathi, his wife, Elizabeth Ricker, their young son, Aaron L. Aiyer, and her sister Sudha Raghuraman.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A traditional Hindu Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed at 12:00 noon by a Traditional Final Prayer Service and Cremation at Woodlawn North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
