Larry R. Mills

Larry R. Mills, 57, a long-time resident of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 30, 2013. He was the husband of Susan L. (Claar) Mills, to whom he was married on October 15, 1983 in Exeter, NH. Born in El Paso, Texas on August 30, 1956; He was the son of the late Donald R. and Jacqueline (Etcheberry) Mills and the step-son of Catherine H. (Hardy) Mills of Wakefield, NH. Mr. Mills was a graduate of the Cumberland High School Class of 1974. He continued his education at the University of New Hampshire, graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was employed by Beacon Sales in Cranston, RI as an Architectural Product Technical Manager prior to his illness. Larry was a member of the Christian Science Church in Providence, RI. He was very active with the Arnold Mills Scout Troop #1 in Cumberland and known for his love of boating, camping and woodworking. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mills leaves three children: Chelsey Anne Mills of Cumberland; Matthew James Mills of Concord, NH; Angelia Katherine Mills of Tennessee; one sister: Louise S. Alder of Bellingham; several nieces, nephews and cousins. *There will be a memorial service held at the United Methodist Church, 690 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland, RI on Satuarday, February 1,2014. The family to arrive at 1:00 PM and the service will be at 2:00 PM. A time of fellowship, refreshment and continuation of the celebration of his life will follow the service at the church. *In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Larry Mills Scholarship Fund-to benefit Boy Scout Troop 1.
