Kristi L. Proulx (Liston) 55, of Pawtucket, RI., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness, at Miriam Hospital, Providence, RI. She was married to the love of her life, Robert Proulx, for 18 years.
Born in Attleboro, MA., on December 1, 1968, she was the cherished daughter of Kathleen Harrison of Florida, and Edwin Liston and his wife Claire of Attleboro, MA. She spent 10 years living in Hillsborough, New Brunswick, Canada. While in school, she was a member of the Hillsborough School Choir. In 1981 and 1983, they won the Leslie Bell Trophy and in 1983, they performed for Princess Diana and Prince Charles, who were visiting Canada. She lived in Canada until 1996, where she had her first 2 children, before moving back to Attleboro, MA.
Kristi was a loving, inspiring soul. Her home was open to everyone, and her hospitality made them feel important. She welcomed all the neighborhood kids, and always had a house full of kids, which she loved nothing more. She was best known for her incredible seamstress skills, though she could also be found knitting, jewelry making, and other activities through which she could express her creativity and love. Her creative essence will live on through her children, who share her love of music and singing, and she passed her love of crafts onto her eldest. She loved trips to Newport with Rob, Sunday Night dinners with family, and seeing Dirty Deeds, an AC/DC tribute band. She could often be found reading a book when she wasn't sewing or taking care of her family. Her most cherished moments were spent with her granddaughter Violet, whom she treasure dearly.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her loving children, Brittany McCarthy, of Providence, RI., Tyler McCarthy of Nantucket, MA., Emma McCarthy of North Attleboro, MA., and Rory McCarthy of Pawtucket, RI.. She is also survived by her dear granddaughter, Violet Pontin, and devoted brothers, Neil Liston and his wife Michelle of North Providence, RI., and Benjamin Liston and his wife Deanna of Attleboro, MA.
