Obituary

Kevin Patrick O'Rourke, 58, passed away on October 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Born in Boston on June 18, 1968, Kevin grew up in Mansfield, MA, the son of the late Joyce and John O'Rourke. He played Mansfield Little League and later made his home in Franklin, MA.

Throughout his life, Kevin held a variety of jobs while forming lasting friendships along the way. He spent many years working at Speedy Oil and also bartended in Marco Island, Florida. One of the experiences he especially enjoyed was working with the Racing School, which gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the country while pursuing his love of racing and adventure.

Music was another important part of Kevin's life. Over the years, he enjoyed playing in various bands and sharing his passion for music with others. His personality and natural ability to connect with people allowed him to make friends wherever life took him.

Above all, Kevin was most proud of being Kane's dad. He cherished his role as a father and the special bond he shared with his son, Kane O'Rourke.

Kevin leaves behind his son, Kane, and Kane's mother, Theresa Burke, of Cumberland, RI; his brother, John O'Rourke, and his wife, Shelley, of Westborough, MA; and his sister, Pam Heatherton, and her husband, John, of Rumford, RI. He will also be remembered by his niece, Emma Heatherton, and his nephews, Pat O'Rourke, Shane O'Rourke, and Ryan Heatherton.

Kevin's love of music, adventurous spirit, and gift for friendship will remain part of his lasting legacy. Most of all, he will be remembered for the deep love and pride he had for Kane. His family will carry his memory in their hearts always.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Visitation, Friday, October 23, 2026, from 5PM to 7PM, in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA.

And in true Kevin fashion, those who knew and loved him are invited to raise a can for Kevin-share a story, have a laugh, and remember a man who made friends wherever he went.
