Kenneth Herbert Tootell

Kenneth Herbert Tootell, 79, of Mansfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was the longtime dear companion of Freda E. (Keddy) Russell of Mansfield.Born on July 12, 1938 in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late George M. Tootell and the late Mildred (Garde) Tootell.A resident of Mansfield for the past thirty years, he previously lived in Pawtucket, and worked for more than thirty years as a machine operator for General Cable, the former Carol Cable, before retiring.A kind and hardworking man, he often worked three jobs to care for his family, whom he cherished above everything else. He was a skilled arborist and tree surgeon, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Warwick, RI, and an avid fan of the Patriots and the Red Sox who loved playing baseball as a younger man, and who enjoyed deep sea fishing. Kenneth was passionate about the dogs he owned and raced at Twin Rivers Racetrack along with his two brothers.In addition to his companion, Freda, he leaves his beloved children: Sandra Ann Bucko and her companion, Thomas "Tom" J. Clary, of Manchester, NH; Lynn M. Dailey and her husband, Dan S. Dailey, of Rumford, RI; Kenny E. Tootell and his wife, Diane Tootell, of Pawtucket, RI; and Kevin W. Tootell of Pawtucket, RI. He was the adoring grandfather of eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Kenneth was the brother of Marjorie Black and her husband, Norman Black, of San Antonio, TX; Milton Tootell and his wife, Ann (Fishwick) Tootell, of Dudley, MA; and George Tootell and his wife, Charlotte Tootell, of Lincoln, RI; and was predeceased by his three brothers and two sisters.
