Kenneth Reid Ramsay

Kenneth Reid Ramsay, 88, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet (Wilson) Ramsay, who died on February 21, 2007, and to whom he was married on April 7, 1951.Born on December 30, 1928 in Jamaica Plain, MA, he was the son of the late Stewart and Lucy (Everett) Ramsay.Kenneth was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1946, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1951. He worked as an Engineer for the former Foxboro Company for thirty-six years, from 1951 until his retirement in 1987, and then for Test Devices, Inc. in Hudson, MA, from 1989 until he retired in 1991. A resident of Attleboro since 1958, he previously lived in Foxboro and Watertown, MA. Kenneth was a longtime active member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, where he served on many committees, and was a Teacher, Superintendent of the Church school, and was Church Moderator. He was a past Master of St. Alban's Lodge of Masons in Foxboro. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, walking, reading, camping, being outdoors, bird watching, cross country skiing, and traveling with his wife.Kenneth was the loving and beloved father of David W. Ramsay and his wife Patricia (Lennox) Ramsay of Attleboro, MA; Debra Bucchianeri and her husband Donald L. Bucchianeri of Atkinson, NH; and the late Douglas Reid Ramsay. He was the adoring grandfather of Jake Ramsay, Mariah Ramsay, Zachary Ramsay, and Kristie Bucchianeri, and the brother of the late Claire Harwood, the late Everett Ramsay, and the late Evelyn L. Robinson. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Kenneth by gathering for a Memorial Service in celebration of his life on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Route 118, Attleboro, MA. A collation will follow in Fellowship Hall.Burial services will be privately held in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, at which time Kenneth will be laid to rest alongside his dear late wife, Janet.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kenneth to the Second Congregational Church Organ Fund, 50 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
