Kenneth (Ken) B. Pitts, 70, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.Native to Spencer, MA, he is the son of Kenneth T. Pitts and the late Irene C. (Doyle) Pitts.Ken was a graduate of David Prouty High School class of 1964 and is remembered as a star athlete from little league through varsity baseball and basketball. His quote in the 1964 Proutian yearbook read, "Every man is as heaven made him and sometimes a little worse."He also completed postsecondary training at the Culinary Institute of America. Circa 1968, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and received the Rifle Marksman Medal. He was an avid businessman, working many years as a corporate manager for D'Angelo's and later opening Bagels & Cream in North Attleboro. More recently, he succeeded in the commercial cleaning industry, first as a Jani-King franchisee and then as owner of Pro-Clean, LLC.His passion was for golf; he was a longtime member of the Brockton Country Club and played in many charity tournaments.Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Susan R. (Chapline) Pitts of Frederick, MD, and longtime partner Janice Ibrahim of Mattapoisett, MA. In addition to his father, he is survived by son Kenneth T. Pitts II and sisters Kathy J.
